Ingredients

  • | Soy sauce | ⅓ cup |
  • | Olive oil | ½ cup |
  • | Lemon juice fresh | ⅓ cup |
  • | Worcestershire sauce | ¼ cup |
  • | Garlic minced | 1 tablespoon |
  • | Brown sugar | 2 tablespoons |
  • | Dijon mustard | 1 tablespoon |
  • | Black pepper | 1 teaspoon |
  • | Salt | ½ teaspoon |
  • | Red pepper flakes optional | ¼ teaspoon |
  • | Fresh parsley or thyme chopped | 1 tablespoon |

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and all seasonings until well combined. The mixture should look smooth and slightly glossy.
  2. Place your steak (such as flank, sirloin, or strip) into a resealable bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is fully coated on all sides. Seal the bag or cover the dish.
  3. Refrigerate and marinate for at least 30 minutes, but ideally 2–6 hours for maximum flavor. Avoid marinating longer than 24 hours, as too much acid can break down the meat excessively.
  4. Remove the steak from the marinade and pat dry before cooking. Grill, pan-sear, or broil to your desired doneness. Let the steak rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing and serving.
