Ingredients
  

Cake Batter
  • 3 cups 375 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup 200 g granulated sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups 360 ml milk
  • ½ cup 115 g unsalted butter, melted
Cinnamon Swirl
  • ¾ cup 170 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup 200 g brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Glaze
  • 2 cups 240 g powdered sugar
  • 4 –5 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease your baking dish thoroughly
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt, mixing well to distribute evenly
  3. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and melted butter until smooth
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients while mixing gently
  5. Stir until just combined; avoid overmixing to keep the cake soft and tender
  6. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish and smooth the surface
  7. In a separate bowl, prepare the cinnamon swirl by mixing softened butter, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon until thick and creamy
  8. Drop spoonfuls of the cinnamon mixture evenly over the cake batter
  9. Using a knife or skewer, gently swirl the mixture into the batter to create a marbled effect
  10. Do not over-swirl; visible ribbons of cinnamon will create the best texture and flavor
  11. Place the cake in the oven and bake for 30–35 minutes
  12. Check doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out mostly clean with a few moist crumbs
  13. Remove from oven and allow the cake to cool slightly while preparing the glaze
  14. In a bowl, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and pourable
  15. Adjust milk quantity for desired consistency (thicker or thinner glaze)
  16. Drizzle the glaze generously over the warm cake
  17. Let it soak slightly into the cake for that signature gooey cinnamon roll texture
  18. Allow cake to cool for 10–15 minutes before slicing
