Ingredients
  

  • | Fresh jalapeño peppers halved (seeds removed) | 12 |
  • | Cream cheese softened | 115 g (4 oz) |
  • | Shredded Cheddar cheese | 120 g 1 cup |
  • | Cooked crumbled bacon | 60 g ½ cup |
  • | Garlic powder | ½ teaspoon |
  • | Onion powder | ½ teaspoon |

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 200 °C (400 °F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Prepare the jalapeños by washing, slicing them in half lengthwise, and carefully removing the seeds and membranes to reduce heat. This creates the base for stuffing and ensures the bites are spicy but not overwhelmingly hot.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with shredded Cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir until the mixture becomes smooth and evenly distributed. Adjust seasoning to taste if you like a bit more garlic or onion flavor.
  3. Spoon the cheese mixture evenly into the cavity of each jalapeño half, filling each one generously without overstuffing. Place the filled jalapeño halves open-side up on the prepared baking sheet so they cook evenly.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese filling is bubbly and the jalapeños are tender. Remove from heat and let the bites cool slightly before serving. These are best enjoyed warm, straight from the oven.
