Ingredients

  • 1 lb 450 g ground beef or thinly sliced steak
  • 1 tablespoon 15 ml olive oil
  • 1 medium onion 120 g, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper 120 g, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper 120 g, diced
  • 1/2 cup 75 g sliced mushrooms (optional)
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 oz 115 g cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup 120 ml heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups 150 g shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 6 slices provolone cheese or 1 cup shredded
  • 1/4 cup 25 g grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley optional

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish lightly with oil
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil
  3. Add sliced onions and cook for 2–3 minutes until slightly softened
  4. Add bell peppers and mushrooms, cooking for another 4–5 minutes until tender
  5. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant
  6. Add ground beef or sliced steak and cook until browned, breaking into small pieces
  7. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder while cooking
  8. Stir in Worcestershire sauce to enhance flavor depth
  9. Drain any excess grease from the pan to avoid a heavy casserole
  10. Reduce heat to medium-low and add cream cheese to the skillet
  11. Stir continuously until cream cheese melts and coats the beef mixture
  12. Pour in heavy cream and mix until a smooth, creamy sauce forms
  13. Remove from heat once everything is well combined
  14. Transfer the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish
  15. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly across the top
  16. Layer provolone cheese slices over the mozzarella for extra melt
  17. Finish with a light sprinkle of parmesan cheese
  18. Bake in the oven for 20–25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly
  19. Broil for 2–3 minutes for a golden, slightly crispy top
  20. Remove from oven and let it rest for 5–10 minutes before serving
  21. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired
  22. Serve warm and enjoy
